It's time to really get Social, not pretend social.

--

A way to use gps and google maps to find new people, and help you keep up with friends locations from any smartphone or pc!

You can see exactly where your friends are, or where they were last at and when, chat with them or send them a message, as well as meet new people to chat with or invite to a friendship.

You can even see an interactive street level view of where they are.

(locations are more accurate when using a GPS enabled device)

--

All times are based on GMT, and your current GMT time is shown at the top left.

--

--

LOGGING IN

Enter your email address (no verification required) and a password to create a new account.

Your email address will remain filled in each visit.

--

--

NEW USER

Decide on a username (be original, they run out quick).

--

--

AVAILABILITY

Choose the duration you plan on being at your current location.

You can always update it later by clicking on the [UPDATE AVAILABILITY] charm at the top right.

You can also remove yourself early by selecting "LOG OUT" from the drop down menu.

--

--

SHARING GEO

A marker has been placed on the map representing you and your location. It is green, and at the center of your map.

This marker will only remain on the map for the duration you specified in the availability section.

Other users are represented by orange markers.

Friends are represented by blue markers.

You can update user markers by clicking the [REFRESH MAP] charm at the top right, this will remove any "EXPIRED" markers and add any new arrivals.

(if the map ever becomes "buggy" clicking this charm will fix it)

--

--

VIEWING YOURSELF

By clicking on your green marker you can view your status, and change it. (status is simply a message for others to see when they click your marker)

By default your availability is shown.

Click the Photo icon to add a Photo.

--

--

VIEWING OTHERS

By clicking on other users markers you can view their status, invite them to be friends, or send them a message/chat.

--

--

INVITE A USER TO BE FRIENDS

You can invite a user to be your friend by clicking the [? FRIEND] button after clicking their marker.

That users marker will change color, showing a friend request is pending.

You can also initiate a friend request by clicking the [FRIENDS] charm at the top right and typing their name in the box and clicking the [? FRIEND] button.

--

--

A USER INVITED YOU TO BE FRIENDS

When a user has requested you as a friend their marker will change color, showing a friend request is pending, you can either deny the friendship by clicking [- FRIEND], or accept the friendship by clicking [+ FRIEND].

The [FRIENDS] charm at the top right will also change color to notify you of a pending friend request.

If the user is currently online their time will also be colored.

--

--

SENDING A MESSAGE AND CHATTING

By clicking on a users marker, and then clicking [MESSAGE], you can send that user a message.

Previous messages are displayed above the input box, and a scroll bar is provided as it grows (on mobile you can use one finger to scroll the box up and down).

Your messages will appear green and the other users messages will appear orange or blue depending on friendship status.

This is the only way to begin a new conversation with a user you have not received a message from already.

--

--

CHECKING MESSAGES AND CONTINUING CONVERSATIONS

By clicking the [MESSAGES] charm at the top right you can view previous messages and awaiting messages from other users.

This charm will turn color if you have a pending message. The color will reflect friendship status of sender.

Messages are sorted by most recent sender, and most recent message.

Unread messages will have the message preview colored, and already read messages will be dark grey.

If the user is currently online their time will also be colored. The color will reflect friendship status of sender.

You can continue a previous conversation with a user by clicking on the last message sent from that user.

The map will also zoom and center on the senders last known location, or current location depending on the users availability.

--

--

FRIENDS LIST AND FRIEND REQUESTS

By clicking the [FRIENDS] charm at the top right you can view a list of your friends and awaiting friendships from other users.

This charm will turn color if you have a friendship request pending, and the requested user will be colored orange in your friendship list.

If a friend is currently online, their available-till time will be colored.

The friends list is sorted by most recent addition, and then by pending friendship requests.

You can accept or deny a friendship request after clicking on the user listed, as well as message/chat with them.

The map will also zoom and center on the users last known location, or current location depending on the users availability.

--

--

MAP CONTROLS

Scroll your mouse wheel or use the +/- icons on the map to zoom in and out and find users further away.

Drag the "Orange Man" to the map to see an interactive street level view of where the user is. (roads will highlight blue to show you where you can drop the "Orange Man")

--

--

SETTINGS

Here you can decide to only show and allow friends.

This means that users who are not your friend, will not see you on their map, and you will not see them on your map.

Users who have sent you a friend request, but are not yet friends, will also show up on your map. But you will not show up on theirs until you accept the friend request.

Here are some ways you may find this useful

Friends are going downtown at 8:00p.m. but you don't get off till 11:00p.m., and have know idea where or what they will be doing at that time. Just have them login around 11:00p.m. and you'll know exactly where they are, without the hassle of them trying to explain it to you through text or in a loud bar.

Children are staying over at a friends house and you just want to make sure that's where they really are.
Call or text them periodically and have them update their availability so you can see exactly where they are, when you want.

KNOWN BUGS

The map overlays may stop working, or the map acts "buggy". (clicking the [REFRESH MAP] charm at the top right fixes it).
